K'n-yan

The underground realm of K'n-yan

Locate three orbs and cast them into the temple chasm to destroy their power.

The following instructions were transcribed from the notes found in Zamacona’s journal. They offer a way for us to escape the malign influence of the K'n-yani.

T'la-yub has told us that the K'n-yani reanimate the bodies of the dead by means of telepathy, and that to channel their occult energies they require certain devices that appear to us as mere orbs. If we remove these orbs from their altars —each carved in the likeness of Great Tulu, or Cthulhu as he is known elsewhere— their power over the reanimated Y'm-bhi will wane.

But this reprieve will be short-lived, as the K'n-yani will retrieve the orbs and restore them to their altars. To gain sufficient time, time for the bodies of our dead to take the course that Nature intended for them, we must take the orbs to a place which no K'n-yani dares enter: the depths of N’kai.

Luckily, there is a chasm in this region: an opening towards N’kai within the abandoned temple of the abyssal god Tsathoggua. Any orbs cast into the chasm will surely be claimed by the terrible creatures of that realm.

There are three K'n-yani orbs in this region. We must destroy their power by casting all three into the pit, and then flee while we still can.
