Combat profile

"Those who dwell in the underworld have begun to emerge"

  • 120 HP — tied 6th-highest of 17, against a roster median of 60. But it takes 1.5× damage, so it folds like a 80 HP creature — far softer than the raw number suggests.
  • Its hearing reaches 60 m — further than its 45 m sight. Noise can give you away well before you're in view, so silence buys more than cover here.
  • Its 45° vision cone is tied lowest of 10 — among the narrowest on the roster, so flanking it works better than it does on most.
  • Standing still buys you 10 m — it spots movement at 30 m but a motionless target only at 20 m.
  • Stays alert for 70s (tied highest of 13) — hiding and waiting it out is a long game.

From the Codex: People of K'n-yan

Scholars' lore

The people of K’n-yan are the masters of the city of Tsath, the subterranean city described in Zamacona's manuscripts, and builders of many great wonders. Inheritors of a great tradition of scientific inquiry, they have gained such power over the flesh that even death is a condition long since studied and set aside.

They move through stone as through mist, rendering themselves unseen or insubstantial at will, and regard walls, distance, and time as minor inconveniences. The Y'm-bhi are numbered among their lesser works: reanimated servitors fashioned from human remains and sustained by formulae stripped of all mercy. The K’n-yani no longer walk the surface except to enact their will, and gaze upon men as playthings to be toyed with and disposed of.
